Today’s Weather Update-IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall Across Cities
The Met Department has issued a new weather advisory warning of heavy rains in several states in the next 48 hours.
According to today’s weather update from the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rains are expected in Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi-NCR and parts of north India. The monsoon line has moved south, bringing heavy rain with thunderstorms in local areas.
People are often asking when will it rain in my city? According to the IMD’s region-wise forecast, rainfall will be highest in the coastal areas in the morning and will gradually reach the interior by evening. Cities like Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata are likely to receive heavy rains, while Delhi may see sporadic drizzle and cloudy skies.
Due to this weather change, the IMD has issued a yellow alert in urban areas, advising people to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated with live weather apps. Low-lying areas may experience flooding, disrupting traffic and causing power outages.
The IMD also said that this spell of rain is part of the active phase of the monsoon and intermittent rains are likely to continue for the next few days. Residents are advised to follow safety protocols and carry protective equipment to protect themselves from the rain when out and about.
Stay tuned for more meteorological updates as conditions change.
